UNDERSTANDING LACE CLOSURES

Lace Closure Sew In in Tampa

Protective. Polished. Practically Undetectable.

From day one, this full-coverage install delivers total protection, scalp realism, and effortless styling—with none of your hair left out. It’s smooth, secure, and built to last.

What Is A Lace Closure Sew In?

A lace closure sew-in—also called a full sew-in with closure—is a method where your natural hair is braided down completely. A lace closure is sewn at the crown to mimic a natural part, and bundles are installed around it for full, seamless coverage.

While hot tools are safe for your weave, a full sew-in is the perfect opportunity to give your hair a break from heat. If you typically straighten your curls, a straight-texture weave lets you skip the flat iron while keeping your hair fully protected.

  • Mimics your natural scalp for a seamless finish

  • Gives the illusion of fuller hair around a thin hairline

How Many Bundles Do I Need?

It depends on your desired fullness and length.

Most natural-looking installs will only need 2–3 bundles. But if you’re going for a full glam look or choosing lengths 24” and longer, expect to need 3–5 bundles for a seamless finish.

💡 Need help choosing the right amount?
During your consultation, we’ll assess your hair goals and recommend the ideal bundle count based on the style you want, the tier you choose, and your natural density.

How long does the installation take?

Most installs take 3 to 3.5 hours with 3 bundles. Timing may vary slightly depending on the number of bundles or additional services.

How long do lace closure sew ins last?

With proper care, a closure sew-in typically lasts 6 to 10 weeks before needing to be removed or refreshed. The actual duration depends on your hair growth, maintenance routine, and how active your lifestyle is.

How Much Does a Lace Closure Sew In Cost?

Sew-in pricing is based on two main factors:

  1. The type of install (traditional, versatile, closure, or frontal)

  2. The hair tier you choose (Luxe, Signature, or Elite)

All of our install packages include the essentials:

  • A detailed consultation

  • Scalp prep and braid down

  • Professional installation

  • Blending and styling to finish

From there, pricing adjusts based on the amount and quality of hair used. Clients can bring their own hair or choose from our in-house extension options — which are offered in three curated tiers based on density, longevity, and desired finish.

If you’re unsure where you fall, we’ll walk through everything during your consultation — no pressure, no guessing. Our goal is to make sure you’re clear on what you’re booking, why it’s priced that way, and how to get the most value from your install over time.

The Truth About Lace Closure Sew Ins

Risks

When properly maintained, this install is very low risk. Most damage comes from improper care—like scratching the closure, pulling on tracks, or waiting too long between appointments. Clients with finer hair should avoid excessive weight or tension.

Side Effects

Because of the braids in the foundation as well as the sewing, the first day or so of a sew in can result in tightness and temporary headaches. A simple pain reliever before installation and before bed  can alleviate some of the tension.

Maintenance

Maintenance on your lace closure sew in is required every two weeks with tightening done at 4 weeks. We remove the lace closure completely and rebraid the front cornrows then reapply the closure to the front of your hair line.  Keep in mind that tightening the tracks behind the lace closure is just resewing your tracks in a different way to add more tension. It will never be as tight as the original sew in. The only way to get it as tight as the original sew in is to remove and reinstall it.

We only allow one closure tightening per sew in cycle.

Removal

When it time to remove your lace closure sew in, our removal process ensures that your natural hair is protected. We gently remove your closure and tracks, unbraid your hair, and detangle your hair. Click here to review our entire removal process.
